Meet the McDonald family. Esther and Caleb have been married for 21 years and have 3 wonderful kids (Josiah, Lilliann and Sam). They both grew up in Christian families. Caleb grew up in A/G churches in Ohio and Kentucky, USA, Esther comes from a lutheran background in Germany.

At the age of 15 during a missions trip to Venezuela, Caleb felt called into the Mission field. He has been in Germany for over 20 years and served in different churches. In 2018 they moved to East Germany to plant D!SCOVER church.

Esther is a devoted teacher and has been involved in children’s and youth ministry.

They love Jesus, church and people. It is their heart and passion to see peoples lives being

transformed and help them to discover God and the potential God has put in them.

Esther and Caleb believe that they are specifically called to help people meet Jesus by meeting their needs. No matter the kind of need whether spiritual, emotional, physical or material needs, they believe that God uses this tool for people to experience God’s grace in order to lead toward Him and eternal salvation.

In their new season of ministry they feel that God is leading them to go to the Canary Islands. It is their missions objective and opportunity to transform a private school on the island of Tenerife into an international christian school, impacting the next generation. Helping the children to discover God and their own God-given potential.

They also see a great need to build up a community development center, geared towards single parents and families in need. Tenerife has struggled over the last years with a high rate of unemployment, especially amongst young people.

Due to mass tourism, real estate and prices have gone up and have taken a toll on the island and its people.  The local average income no longer enough to provide for their families.

Not only is there a great Spiritual need on the Islands, there is a need in learning different languages to be able to find work. Caleb and Esther see themselves called to serve the Canary People, extending God’s grace and bringing hope through Christ. At the same time they feel led to help strengthen and equip the local church.
