Hands Up for Haiti

HAITI - AGAIN. So many needs. So many crises. We all want to help. We want our help to impact the nation, lift up the people. Haitians do not want another hand out, or more hand-me-downs. What they are crying out for is a hand up. Missionary Ventures understands that, and we are responding in the following way.

Briefly, we are extending a hand up to empower and equip Haitian leadership in response to this crisis.  We are partnering with Hope Baptist Church in Cap Haitien, Haiti -- they will be our boots on the ground, our hands of service  The outreach will be led by Pastor Micheler Tanis (Pastor of Evangelism) in Cap Haitien.

In the first of two phases, we are supporting through prayer and funding an exploratory venture to be led by Pastor Micheler. He, along with two or three others, will visit the earthquake zone and meet with local Christian leaders to identify the needs and target where we might have the most meaningful impact  Pastor Micheler and his team will report to MV with their findings and a suggested project description. These reports will be passed on to our contributors and prayer partners.

The second phase will be the actual "HANDS UP and HANDS ON".  This will include prayer support, budgeting for the outreach, forming and equipping the outreach team, and sending the workers to serve the need.  Again, activity and impact of ministry will be reported back to us.  The success of this phase depends strongly on financial support.

I have set an initial goal of $50,000 for this outreach.  As things unfold, our goal could change.  But, considering the devastation involved, $50,000 is not an unreasonable start.

The goal of Phase 1: Identify and Define Project

The goal of Phase 2: Meet Identified Need -- Hands Up, Hands On

This project will be updated with photos and video as they become available.
